74 students going to college, 3 future soldiers, 2 apprenticeship students, 45 middle school students, and over 105 students in audience. Where were these students?
The College Signing Day at Norwood High School this past Friday!
I had the privilege to attend the event and take some photos. The College Signing Day is held annually for graduating Norwood High School students to honor their pursuance in higher education. 79 Norwood Seniors were honored at the event – split up into their respective colleges, universities, trade schools, military branches, etc.
Each institution had a representative speak and welcome the students to their respective placements. From there, the students make a pledge and officially sign to show their commitment. Representatives came from institutions around the country – from the University of Cincinnati and Ohio State University to Harvard and the US Army.
This ceremony was incredibly heart-felt and inspiring. I have never seen students from all backgrounds together supporting each other and so excited about their future in higher education. We at Norwood Promise wish the class of 2016 the best in their future endeavors and are excited to support Norwood and Greater Cincinnati to reach greater heights in higher education.
We also want to thank our partners at GEAR UP Norwood for orchestrating such a wonderful event. Their support and celebration of these students and their futures are remarkable to say the least.
